About
Call us perfectionists, if you like. But when it comes to roofing that’s not a bad thing.

Cooke Roofing’s director, Shaun Cooke, has been a roofer in the Waikato since 1994. Cooke Roofing has been in business since 2005, and in that time we’ve installed thousands of roofs, all over the greater Waikato.
Right from the start, Shaun had correct methods of roof installation and attention to detail drilled into him. And now that he’s the boss, he closely supervises all our staff to make sure that all the work is up to his very high standards.
Those standards have won us awards, including the Roofing Association of New Zealand’s Professionalism in Metal Tile Roof Installation Award in 2012.
Our approach is very simple: we want the roof on your house to be as good as the roof on ours. And if we wouldn’t accept it on our own home, you won’t find it on yours.
We don’t like things to be more difficult on your build than they have to be. You don’t need hassle, and you don’t need drama.
You’ll find that Cooke Roofing are the easiest roofers you’ve ever worked with.
About Metal Tile Roofing
Metal tile roofing is a lightweight and versatile type of roofing, one that can look just as good on a 19th century bay villa as on a brand new contemporary home.
The tiles are made of New Zealand steel that’s covered with Zincalume® for resistance to corrosion. They’re then covered with an acrylic satin finish or natural stone granules, depending on the look you want.
Why steel roofing?
Steel offers a number of benefits that other roofing products don’t. Older tile roofs often use concrete or asphalt tiles, which can crack over time as they weather. That can lead to leaks, and make them less resistant to the elements. But steel doesn’t crack, and you’ll find that your roof stands up to the most extreme conditions.
The key benefit of steel is its strength-to-weight ratio. All that means is that it’s strong, but light. That’s a real safety advantage should you experience a house fire or an earthquake – both weaken the building, but because the roof is relatively light, the chances of it caving in are much less.
Steel is also better for the environment. It makes your home more energy efficient because the metal reflects heat, and 60% of the materials are recyclable, unlike other roofing materials.
Cooke Roofing uses Metrotile products. In addition to our own five-year workmanship warranty, Metrotile roofs come with a warranty of up to 50 years, so you can be sure your roof will perform well into the future.
